Console Connect is proud to announce the launch of our pioneering LSO API Adaptor, an open-source solution designed to accelerate the adoption of standards-based APIs, such as MEF’s LSO Sonata APIs. This adaptor is now available on GitHub, and we invite you to join our community to download, test, and use it to transform your proprietary APIs into MEF LSO compliant APIs.

The LSO Sonata API standard allows for greater interoperability between your services and systems with those of the growing cohort of MEF 3.0-compliant organisations. Standardisation ensures that the true value of end-to-end network automation can be realised. APIs can interact seamlessly, allowing developers to unlock the power of cross-platform interoperability, making businesses more agile, flexible, and resilient. You can read more about the MEF 3.0 certification standard on the MEF website.

As one of the few NaaS platforms compliant with the MEF 3.0 LSO API certification standard, Console Connect is in a unique position to enable companies to modernise to this standard. To achieve this, we have built our open source LSO API adaptor, available right now on GitHub. As a true open source solution, this adaptor, named Kraken in the docs, can be implemented by any developer with access to the repository, allowing conversion of data between APIs with entirely different data structures. We also offer services in tandem with the open source repo, to help support developers and companies to implement this bridge and fasttrack their own certification. For more information about what we can offer, whether you need a review of your API capabilities, implementation or ongoing maintenance and support, have a look at our website for detail and get in touch.

And of course, this is only the beginning. As an open source project, it’s possible to grow our capability. On top of the current support for address validation, quoting, ordering and inventory of ports and Layer 2 ethernet connections, any developer can help expand the functionality by adding more use cases and product payloads, contribute to the success of businesses using the adaptor, and drive the future of API standardisation.

The documentation in Github will lead you through the background for the LSO API adaptor and go into deep detail about how to implement it and how to get the most out of it, directly from our development team. Have a read through the readme and let us know what you think. If you have any questions, just shout here or within Github and our Console Connect experts will be happy to help you out. And if you’re ready to get started with your implementation, head straight to our website to start the process.
